The new Interstate Treaty on Gambling is set to come into force throughout Germany in July 2021, bringing with it significant legal innovations for online sports betting and online casinos. 

With the new treaty finally regularising the online poker and online slot verticals, whilst seriously addressing the grey market issues, a major concern for future growth, the main question posed is: Can Germany position itself as a major force to be reckoned with on the European iGaming front?
